There are two main types of talks given in the National Weather Center (NWC): Colloquia and Seminars. The former are commonly held on Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters, starting at 3 PM; refreshments follow on the Observation Deck. In addition to a public lecture, typically, guests are invited to the NWC and spend 1-3 days visiting and meeting with researchers in the NWC. These are great opportunities to foster collaboration and network outside the NWC. Seminars, on the other hand, are a required course for MS and PhD students in the School of Meteorology. These seminars are typically shorter in length, and the dates and times vary depending on the topic.
